Garage Tiling
I was instructed by the client to source a tile which would complement the building and also work with the Porsche. It also had to be a durable tile, easy to clean and non tyre marking.
Tip. Place expansion joints were required and use flexible concrete tile glues.
This work was done in 2005 and it still looks good today.
Ship container mezzanine floor welding
The client had a car which they wanted to export. They also had some household goods that they wanted to be included. As the car is small there was a lot of room up on top. So I was instructed to make a self supporting structure to hold the chattels.
I had to ensure that the rocking motion of the seas did not move the entire contents. A steel frame was made out of RHS and was braced with 20mm ply as a platform and struts. The car was strapped into position and the contents on top tied down and blocked by a head board.
The client being a car enthusiast would have killed me if anything had happened to his car like the structure failing or a scratch to the car. I was confident that my work was solid, good that is, but I was also relieaved when I heard that it arrived to its destination un marked.
Below are the photos of the work.
My Gates
As you will see from these photos below all these gates made by myself or another worker are solid and will not distort in any way. They are also made in a way that cladding the gates is easy because I have incorporated fixing points for rails. I thought about a good system for many years until I started making these. The beauty about this design is that kids can swing or hang of them. You can give them a serious knock with a car and they will still be integral. The steel is over size for ecstatic rather then strength.
This gate or external doors I made in 2005. Yes, they need to be oiled. They are doweled and epoxy resin sealed. The masonry fence I hand mixed with my friend after I formed the sections. It is solid as. A car once crashed into it, only chipping a block. There was no sign of other damage the footings are 1.2 meters deep and it is 250 mm wide and reinforced with steel bars and mesh.
Hot Water Cover
Task
The clients wanted to make an extension and incorporated the deck with the rest of the house. They also needed an extra room and an on suit where people could excess from the deck but be secure and useable inside the house. Privacy as well as security was needed and they wanted lots of roof cover for cars and the entry area.
